Maxwell James SCOTT

Georgia and Max making Maverick feel right at home

Max is my baby and always has been. Tim tells me I ruined him and turned him into a sook by fussing over him as a pup. Max was an impulse purchase from a pet shop. He was small and had an awful coat and was in with a crowd of bigger yellow labs. If he hadn't been out in the play pen in the shop, I wouldn't have asked to hold him and I wouldn't have taken him home! Georgia wasn't at all impressed with her new brother and for a short while I did wonder what on earth I had done. After a couple of weeks though Georgia began to enjoy canine company and Max certainly adored his doggy sister.

Max is completely different in personality to Georgia and is a clever dog by anyones standards. Max is focused and has always been super keen to learn. I taught him all the usual things and we then moved on to whispering and dancing – he is a better cha–cha partner than my husband! Max is also incredibly social and is great with the rescues as they come and go – he is a particularly fabulous "uncle" to young puppies that come into our care and he manages to discipline all of the dogs much better than I ever could. Over the years Max has been involved in some agility and tried his paw at flyball. Max loves nothing more than a great game of fetch or a run by the river.
